H is for Hope

hope

/hōp/

noun:

1. A feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen

2. A feeling of trust

intransitive verb:

1. To cherish a desire with anticipation: to want something to happen or be true

1. To desire with expectation of obtainment or fulfillment

2. To expect with confidence, to trust

As an actor, hope plays a big part in our lives. We experience daily rejection, and must develop skills to not only accept multiple rejections but to stay hopeful that the next time, or the time after that, or next month, or next year sometime, or whenever it’s supposed to happen, that it will eventually be your time. You will eventually book that role. Work on that project. Get that job. You must know that it will happen.

One of my favorite quotes, and one that fills me with hope, is this:

"What’s meant for you

will never miss you,

And what misses you

was never meant for you."

Read that one again.

Powerful!

"Remember, Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies." ...Another favorite. Who can tell me what that quote's from?

I don't know from where the quote is, but it's a good one.

I love this Langley. I know the answer but I will let someone else answer. Hope is a huge word for only having 4 letters.

Thanks for this❤️

Is that from, “To Kill A Mockingbird”? Wait, that was Scout. Who has red hair and is being mentored?

Hope is what we all thrive in with a particular amount of certainty.
